Alright, just hold on there a second! I've been watching CNN a lot lately,
and it seems that there are just a few too many corporations that are
forgetting to tally up their apples at the end of the harvest. I hesitate
to use the word 'idjit', because I understand it's not easy being a businessman.
These CEO's are working just so damned hard trying to make their businesses
work that they've forgotten to balance the books!
I can understand that these good ol' American companies are just trying
to earn a buck, but gosh-jeez, have you never heard of accountants?
An accountant is a fellow who has gone to school and learned how to use
a calculator. Oh sure, an accountant is going to charge you money for
his services, but heck, some of these businesses were making a trillion
dollars last year! You'd think they could fork out a little bit just to
make sure it all added up when tax time came around.
Now, as a concerned American citizen, I just want to say that I understand
the pressures of running a huge corporation. I once had my own business
chopping and selling firewood back in the 50's. It's not easy balancing
the costs and the profits, especially when you're interested in buying
that new ash-handled axe.
I'm no federal regulator, so I'm just going to say that I'm a little
disappointed. Think about hiring that accountant, or at least get your
wife to help you tally your checks and balances.
